Poignant Poop
Good morning, and welcome to the maiden voyage of, "I lost my mind. I'm not and idiot." My name is..."Troggie". Yeah, that works. It's short for, "troglodyte", which is a person characterized by reclusive habits or outmoded or reactionary attitudes. In other words, a neanderthal or caveman. The 21st century may go so far as to say, "Not with the program." Or, "Not politically correct." Sounds like a challenge to me. You may notice, I hope, my catchy blog title or post title. I'll say this once because I don't wish to hold your hand, not without dinner and a movie anyway, and that is to be on the look out for the little things. Obscure details. Things that make you go, "W.T.F?? Did he just say that? Hmm, G.D., he's right." If I can produce a greater sense and, God willing, an appreciation for a more insightful disposition, then it has not been a wasted visit. I want to impose upon you an ardent and inquiring mind. And with that, allow me to declare my love for bumper stickers and refrigerator magnets! (This is the part where you say, wtf?") One such example says, "Dissension is the highest form of patriotism." Another, is a quote from Charles Bukowski which says, "Some people never go crazy. What truly horrible lives they must lead." One of my favorite poems is by D.H. Lawrence, and is entitled, "Self-Pity". "I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself. A small bird will fall frozen dead from a bough, without ever having felt sorry for itself." I love movies and refer to them way too much. I also indulge in quotes and frequently try and pinch out anecdotes and reflections. One of the most poignant reflections I've come up with so far as a result of my tenure in the work-force, and that is, "We may very well be at the bottom of the ladder, but we're also holding the ladder up." Let me conclude with a final thought: "There are two kinds of people in this world you don't wanna fuck with. The people that handle your food. And, the people at the bottom of the G.D. ladder!" Later. -Tr
